About
A runner who wanted to understand his own watch
I'm Greg, a product manager and a runner. I've worn Garmin watches for almost ten years, and for most of that time I used a small part of what they measure. Wrist Nerds is where I figure out the rest, in public.
How each piece is made
- It starts from a real question, usually one people keep asking on forums.
- It uses my own data from my own watch, a Forerunner 955, and says so.
- Drafts are written with the help of AI tools. I rewrite every piece and check every number and source before it goes live.
- Every page shows when it was last updated. Garmin changes features often, and so do the pages.
What this site is not
It's not medical advice. Watch metrics are estimates. If something feels wrong with your body, talk to a doctor, not to your watch.
It's not an official Garmin site. Wrist Nerds is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Garmin Ltd. Garmin and product names are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to describe products.
